I actually had to pop the game in last night just to double check. Not sure why I thought they were separate. It's not possible for each set of goggles to possess both nightvision and thermal capabilities, and the googles can only be switched on or off, not between nightvision and thermal vision. It is a non-specific 9mm, which is directly taken from the strategy guide.
